Pazh [Page]

An NKGB foreign intelligence cover name appearing in a number of Soviet intelligence World War II period cables which were partially decrypted in the course of the American Venona operation, and released in 1995-1996. At the time of this release, “Pazh” was identified by Venona translators as Lauchlin Currie, a Canadian-born U.S. economist who was a top-level policy advisor and served as a White House economic adviser to President Franklin Roosevelt during World War II.
