HUMINT

Short for the term HUMan INTelligence, referring to “a category of intelligence derived from information collected and provided by human sources,” as opposed to intelligence gathered by technical means. ¹ The Russian equivalent of this term is “agenturnaja razvedka” – “intelligence through agent sources.”
