Nigel

An NKVD foreign intelligence cover name which was first revealed in 1998 in The Crown Jewels: The British Secrets at the Heart of the KGB Files, a book by Nigel West and Oleg Tsarev on the history of Soviet espionage in Great Britain. “Nigel” was identified as Michael Whitney Straight, publisher of The New Republic magazine, novelist and self-confessed Communist, who was a Soviet intelligence recruit in the 1930s.
