Robert Eideman

Soviet military cadre commander with the rank of Comcor, or Corps Commander, the Soviet equivalent of a U.S. three-star general. Beginning in April 1932, Eideman was the Chairman of the Central Board of OSOAVIAKhIM (The Society for Facilitating Defense, Aviation and Chemical Construction) of the USSR and a member of the Military Council at the People’s Commissar of Defense. He was decorated with two Orders of the Red Banner (1920, 1924) and one Order of the Red Star (1934).

Eideman was arrested on May 22, 1937 and sentenced to death on June 11 of that year onĀ  the charge of “belonging to a military conspiracy.” He was executed on June 12, 1937 but rehabilitated on January 31, 1957.
