TsKB-19

Soviet multi-purpose fighter aircraft designed by Nickolai Polikarpov and first tested by Valery Chkalov in September 1935. TsKB stands for Tsentral’noe konstruktorskoe buro (Central Design Buro). On May 1, 1936, the TsKB-19 was demonstrated over Red Square in Moscow. From November 13 to 30, 1936, the fighter was displayed at the 15th International Exhibition in Paris. It was later renamed the I-17.
